The anticipation for the 5th CISM Military World Winter Games 2025 is growing – and now they have a new face – or rather, a cute snout: «Murmeli», our charming marmot, which is now the official mascot of the winter games!
Why a marmot?
The marmot, a symbol of the Alpine region, is perfectly suited to the Winter Olympics and to Switzerland. It not only represents the country's close ties with the Swiss mountains, but also the cheerful and welcoming spirit that characterizes the Winter Olympics. The cute mascot will delight athletes and spectators at the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as at the various venues.
«Murmeli» is designed to bring people together – just like the games themselves. The 2025 Military World Winter Games will bring together over 1,200 athletes from 43 nations to compete in nine exciting sports. The mascot will act as an ambassador for fair play and international friendship, in line with the CISM motto: «Friendship through Sport».
