The Winter Games are getting closer: the countdown has begun!

In two months, the Military World Winter Games will be coming to Switzerland! Preparations at the competition sites are in full swing to offer athletes from all over the world ideal conditions.

Whether alpine competitions in Engelberg, Nordic disciplines in the Andermatt and Goms regions, or climbing in Wädenswil – each location presents unique challenges. That is why intensive meetings and staff workdays have been held again at all venues in recent weeks. The aim was to clarify open questions, make crucial preparations and coordinate important processes. Concepts were finalized, responsibilities clarified and cooperation with civilian partner organizations intensified. Competition Director Colonel Markus Ming emphasizes: «Only if all the cogs mesh and everyone knows their task will we be successful together.»

The competition teams – consisting of militia members, experts and civilian partners – are working closely together to make the Games an extraordinary event. Much has already been achieved: more specialists have joined the staff, some of whom have been re-militarized and are now fully motivated and working on the final preparations.

The next two months will be crucial to iron out the remaining details and bring the planning into its final phase. Every day counts, and the entire team is ready to tackle the final challenges to make the Games an unforgettable highlight for all involved.
